.jpg) Mark Houser is president and CEO of EV Energy Partners LP and executive vice president and chief operating officer of general partner EnerVest Ltd., the largest oil producer in Ohio. Prior to joining EnerVest in 1999, Houser was vice president, U.S. E&P, for Occidental Petroleum Corp., and previously held positions of vice president of corporate planning and investor relations for Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. (now Nexen Inc.) in Calgary and vice president of exploration for CXY Energy, the U.S. subsidiary of Canadian Oxy. He began his career as an engineer with Kerr-McGee Corp. Houser received his petroleum engineering degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He is the chairman of the industry board of the Texas A&M University Department of Petroleum Engineering.
