James S. Cutler

CEO, Appalachian Resins

James CutlerJim Cutler is internationally recognized as a petrochemical and midstream business development expert. Over a 40-year career, he has been responsible for overseeing the development of ethylene, ammonia, methanol and resin production businesses, as well as various midstream projects. Cutler currently is CEO of Appalachian Resins, a start-up company that is developing an integrated ethylene/polyethylene production facility. The proposed facility will use ethane extracted from Marcellus Shale gas as the ethylene feedstock. Appalachian Resins reflects a business model that recognizes both the need to improve petrochemical supply chain resiliency and the sea change associated with the recent development of shale gas. Cutler holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
