Matthew Hite is GPA's vice president of government affairs and leads the association's federal advocacy activities in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining GPA in January 2015, Hite served as policy counsel and committee executive to the Environment, Technology &ammp; Regulatory Affairs Division at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In that role, he handled a variety of environmental issues and also managed the Chamber's Environment and Agriculture Committee, the policymaking body for environment and agriculture issues and initiatives. Before joining the Chamber, he spent close to a decade working on Capitol Hill. He was senior counsel to Ranking Member Jim Inhofe (R-OK) on the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works where he handled a number of environmental, agency oversight and regulatory issues. Prior to that, he worked on energy and environmental issues for congressional members from Alaska, Idaho and Ohio. Hite holds a Juris Doctor from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.
